13-8 PH UNS S13800 Stainless Steel round Bar

13-8 PH UNS S13800 stainless steel round bar is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel known for its excellent strength, high hardness, superior toughness, and good corrosion resistance. This alloy is produced through a double melting process in a Vacuum Induction Furnace (VIM) followed by Consumable Electrode Vacuum Melt (CEVM or VAR), or in some cases, a second melt via Electroslag Remelting (ESR) as specified by the consumer.

The tight control of its chemical composition, low carbon content, and vacuum melting processes contribute to its outstanding transverse toughness properties. The 13-8 PH stainless steel round bar offers a wide range of properties with a single precipitation hardening heat treatment and is weldable, with inert gas shielding using Helium preferred. Its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of 304 stainless steel, with the greatest resistance achieved in fully hardened conditions.
