309S Stainless Steel Sheet
309S Stainless Steel Sheet
Contact form
309 stainless steel sheets are austenitic alloys recognized for their high levels of chromium and nickel, which enhance oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1830°F. The low carbon variant, 309S, is particularly valued for its ease of fabrication and welding, making it suitable for high-temperature applications like furnace equipment and thermowells.
Chemical Composition and Properties
The primary difference between 309, 309S, and 309H stainless steel sheets lies in carbon content: 309 has up to 0.20%, 309S has a maximum of 0.080%, and 309H ranges from 0.04% to 0.10%. All grades contain 60.0% iron, 23.0% chromium, and 14.0% nickel, offering excellent resistance to corrosion and heat. These sheets are characterized by a tensile strength of up to 85 ksi and a yield strength of 30 ksi.
Applications and Sourcing
Common applications for 309 stainless steel sheets include oven linings, annealing boxes, and valves. Sourced from various 309S stainless steel sheet manufacturers and 309S stainless steel sheet factories, these sheets are available in different thicknesses and can be customized to meet specific requirements.
