Contact form
310 Stainless Steel Sheet (UNS S31000) is an austenitic stainless steel recognized for its exceptional high-temperature oxidation and corrosion resistance. With a high chromium (25%) and moderate nickel content, it excels in applications requiring durability and strength at elevated temperatures, up to 2010°F (1100°C) under mildly cyclic conditions.
Key Properties and Applications
Alloy 310 is ideal for high-temperature environments and exhibits resistance to sulfidation and carburization. It is suitable for use in oxidizing, nitriding, and thermal cycling applications, although service temperatures may need adjustment. The low carbon variant, 310S, is preferred for ease of fabrication, while the high carbon version, 310H, is designed for improved creep resistance. For detailed specifications, refer to the 310 stainless steel data sheet.
While Alloy 310 shows excellent resistance to fuming nitric acid at room temperature and is suitable for cryogenic applications, it is not recommended for wet corrosive environments due to the potential for intergranular corrosion.
