The 316L stainless steel round bar is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel alloy containing molybdenum, which enhances corrosion resistance and increases strength at elevated temperatures compared to 304 stainless steel. Commonly referred to as food-grade or marine-grade stainless steel, 316L is exceptionally suited for resisting a wide range of chemical and acidic environments, making it ideal for marine applications.

Typical uses for the stainless steel round bar 316L include food production, pharmaceutical equipment, furnace parts, heat exchangers, valves and pumps, chemical processing, and marine components. This alloy is primarily available in a lower carbon dual grade (316/316L) to improve machinability and provide added corrosion resistance during welding.
